You are a statistic.
I am a statistic.
That is life, we fall into categories.
Now that we have accepted that, let’s move onto to what statistic you probably are.
- If you are a man, you are more likely to have hearing loss than a woman.
- If you are a woman, you are more likely to be better at identifying an odor than a man.
- If you have a son between the age of 2 and 6, he is three times more likely to stutter than your daughter of equal age.
(all stats borrowed from http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/ and all rights belong to NIDCD)
Here is another statistic, a painful one..
- If you are in a home business or are thinking about starting your own business (at home or a traditional “brick and mortar”) you are probably going to spend the next 3 years struggling before you close shop.
So why even go into the venture or even TRY to do anything besides climb the corporate ladder?
Well how many people do you know who have held a job for the last 10-15 years?
Now how many of them are the CEO, President, or any other BullCrap title that makes them feel special being a slave to a different company AND making more than 100K a year?
It’s sad also because if a company is able to afford to pay you that much, how much do you think you are making THEM?
AN AVERAGE OF 4-5 TIMES WHAT AN EMPLOYEE GETS PAID IS ACTUALLY WHAT THEY ARE WORTH TO A COMPANY.
That is a big enough reason to OWN your own business. You keep so much more profit and have a chance to built a team, outsource, capitalize, and have employees where you get to profit from the cash machine, instead of being one of the “gears” of the cash machine.
Truthfully, a 3% chance is more than you’ll ever get working for a company.
And this day and age you have a 0% chance of having a secure job with a secure retirement.
Social Security is becoming a joke and they don’t pay enough to live on anyway.
AND THE BOLDEST STATEMENT YET……
I would say that 97% of people FAIL AT LIFE!
Meaning they never fully dedicate themselves to the constant improvement of their income, demeanor, or even character.
97% of people are on AUTO-PILOT.
So yes, 97% of people who start a business from home fail. I think it’s because 97% of people who start a business from home have no business jumping head first into something when at heart they are just another employee and always will be.
An entrepreneur has a thirst inside and a job will never be the water to quench that thirst.
These are the people in the 3% margin. The long and narrow road.
So be honest with yourself, where is your heart and where are you going?
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT start a business, or join someone in business without having a conversation with someone like more (or another experienced leader you can trust) about what it’s actually going to take for you to be successful. There is usually a lot more “under the hood” of running a business successfully than “Buying in, setting up your website, and sending people to it and let the paychecks come!”
If someone has told you that, they are either lying to you OR (and most likely) they are telling you this because they have been TOLD TO TELL YOU THIS and they don’t know any better.
Companies know that if 100 people look at their business model, 30-40 will try it out. PROFIT.. too bad it’s your paycheck that funds their lifestyle.
The reason you invest in a business is to generate yourself profit. Be sure you find something or SOMEONE who is in it for you to generate profit too.
There, now when you become a 97%-er because you didn’t take my advice you can’t say that nobody ever told you
IF YOU ARE A 3%-er and are convinced that you are and are looking to either get further coaching or expand into your own business, contact me and we’ll set up a time to talk so that I can help you find the right match for you or your next step.
Decide now that you will do your best and NEVER become “One of the 97″
Never look back.
